    Twitchy legs

Anyone else suffer from leg twitching after a run? i've got to move my legs or they move themselves, that is they twitch, ache until i have to move. retless leg is supposed to happen during the night, but it rarely happens then, it's when i rest after my run, usually happens more the further i have run, over 6 miles is nearly sure to make it happen.
    Any ideas?

i recently discovered just what it was that caused restless legs.
I remember at the time it was enlightening and I was so pleased that i would be able to stop it happening in the future.
Trouble is i have forgot what the cause was. Damnnit.
I think it was to do with something you lose from your system when training (similar to dehydration.)

It'll come back to me. let you know when

I get this too, usually after a run when i put my feet up, its very weird, looks like i have a creature under my skin running round, I don't get any aches and pains from it though.

MY right calf does that after a long run. Like you said Sarah, looks like I have something living under the skin. I think it is related to a back problem I had a few years ago when I prolapsed a disk. I lost the feeling in my right foot and my calf wasted away. It still causes me problems but doesnt stop me from running. My achilles gets sore but I think that is because my calf muscles arent working properly !
If you cant change something, change the way you feel about it !

It's called fasciculation - it's entirely normal and caused by tiredness / dehydration

Ive struggled with this violent shaking as well.

Second pint usually puts it right though.

Bizarrely, the old man suffers from exactly the opposite problem. After anything resembling a long run he has the utmost difficulty in coaxing any kind of movement out of his legs for some time. Is there a cure?

    Woof!
But I would not be convicted by a jury of my peers.
