I assisted Ogwen Valley MRT when we did a detailed search of the Ogwen valley for a missing person. We combed the valley from lake to Bethesda, 50 metres apart. I had a station about half way up the western valley wall. Never found the poor chap. That would have been around 76. So I guess Tony would have been involved in that.

Off to Wales on Tuesday to continue my quest to climb all the 2000ft hills. Concentrating on the Berwyns this visit. should be safe from viral death up there.
Yes. That was a real shock. The ridge was transformed from an open airy place to something resembling the somme. Mindyou it's been a good 10 years since I was last up there.
Apparently our village is suddenly hugely loved, all the holiday homes that are empty most of the time and families that contribute little or nothing to the community are filling up with their owners and families from away - very keen to isolate up here. Hmmmm.
Drove through the Tanat Valley on Saturday morning, it was beautiful. Then up and over the top towards Bala. A lovely drive... although the thought of traversing that bleak pass, at night, on the Leventon Line, did send a bit of a shiver up my spine!
