Shane Ohly sounds pretty impressed and isn't short of other kit to try out
Quite impressed with Haglofs gear. Got a couple of fleeces which are very light, snug and well shaped. May well put one of these jackets on my Dear Santa list - like most technical items they are far from cheap but a bit of searching on the Internet should turn up some discounted prices.

Already found it for £20 less in the UK or £50 less from the US.

    Re: what waterproof jacket?

Interesting thread this and very useful. I have spent ages trying to decide what is both a windproof and waterproof body kit and will also fit in a bum bag. Some of the links on this thread I have thrown up some good kit worth considering - Thanks everyone.

Another fan of the OMM Kamleika Smock here too. Only problem I've had with it is the taping on the internal pocket has come away from the fabric, other then that it's the business.

Berghaus Paclite. Not cheap but covers every eventuality.

    oh no.

you've not been putting a heavy weighed down wallet in there have you

i only discovered the pocket yesterday

bloody waterproof though I'll vouch for that!!

you can see it tied around my waist in the avatar - good for hiding 'does my bum look big in this' also!!

    Re: what waterproof jacket?

Recently purchased the OMM kamleika smock and trousers - my first ever proper waterproofs for running (15 years fell running ain't bad going without them). So far only one outing so fingers crossed they do the business through the winter.
Only complaint is that when I put them on (they are black) and pull the hood up I look even more like a mole and the Missus falls about laughing .

Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.
