    Re: Snow for Cardington Cracke

There's a few cm of snow from Friday night on the hills and up to 20cm forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday. The roads are fine to drive on at the mo but could get a bit more interesting after the next lot - bring your sleigh, and a camera!

There's not much snow at the mo, but it's supposed to start in the next couple of hours. The pic on my blog entry for the Time Trial was taken on top of the Long Mynd yesterday morning. The Great Wanderer and his mates at the front are going to have a hard day breaking trail. I'm just concerned (1) to finish; and (2) to improve on 63%. Lots of snow might help with the latter (sorry quick people), but not the former.

Cardington has a bus service (1 a day - can you call that a service?) so the bus route should be gritted and cleared. SCC are usually quite good as long as they haven't run out of grit.

I hope there's a good covering of snow ( snowing here 30 miles north )...the descents of the Lawley n Caradoc have been pretty tricky when frozen and icy...plus the scenery will look amazing too...let#s hope the have that excellent soup on for when we get back !

Another half an inch fell in Telford overnight, but the temperature's above freezing now for the first time in four days. I'll update on Thursday or Friday if none of the other locals gets there before me!

Little snow in Shrewsbury today - and they appear to be using Shropshire's total grit allocation here on the footpaths; there is much more snow in Wellington & Telford. Some snow showers forecast over next 2 days in South Shrops, and temp of -4 (ish) tonight but warming up a bit at the weekend ...so, sounds like it should be ok and you will have much fun. If the organisers make any race annoucements locally, we'll try and post them up here as soon as we can.

Thanks folks for the updates - please keep them coming as the situation develops

It's been snowing like crazy here in Kent today and I spent more time travelling to/from London than actually at work...

I'm quite happy running in the snow, I just want to make sure I can actually get to the race

There's now about 3" of snow in the back garden.

The main roads are still ok but some of the side roads are a bit treacherous where there's ice under the new snow.

Very pleasant this morning in between gentle snow showers.

Thanks Jim for your diligence in weather reporting

Looks like my problem will be getting out of Kent; we have a foot of snow and it's still snowing constantly, as it has been for the last 48 hours...

Just rung the Royal Oak and was told the roads in the village are icy but ok to drive on with care. Other roads are gritted and alright I'm told.

Looks like there's going to be good potential for "improvisation" on the descents (ie sliding on bum)
