    LDWA events

I may have missed something here but I have looked atthe LDWA website for events and I dont see anything about those wanting to run these events. I also notice their calander only takes you up to march 2008. I have read alot on the forum about FRA members entering these events. So how do you enter to run? and how do you gey info on eventslater on in the year such as the 100?
I'd like to do Rotherham and similar this year if possible!

Info for the 2008 Yoredale 100 is at www.wizzer5.co.uk .

Info for the Round Rotherham event can be found thro the Rotherham Harriers website

You could even join the LDWA ! and save the fee on the premium charged to non-members to enter the hundred -if there's any places left for them.

The events you are looking for are " Challenge Events " in the calendar ,filter out the social walks .Those left will state "walkers only " if they don't want runners or "no runners " or even worse "no dogs , no runners " in that order !

    Re: LDWA events

You do not have to be an LDWA member to look at the full list of LDWA Challenge Events but you do need to be in the know. What you need to do is to delete the 'to date',currently 16/03/08 in the events calendar, and make sure you select Challenge Events and then you get everything that has been listed to date. I think the last event shown is October 2008.
If you want to run then you just do that but you may have to watch checkpoint opening times which often are enforced so you could be kicking your heels. Some events like the 100 have a later starting time for runners. You have to get the entry form to see how an organiser is doing it. Our event The Hebden on 5 January is, I think, tough enough for both runners and walkers to have a good challenge with walkers and runners setting off together.
    Hope this helps.

Corniceman, if you join LDWA you'll also get excellent Strider magazine, which has info of up-coming events plus write-ups of previous ones. Don't think you can beat the challenge events for value and hassle-free long days out

    Re: LDWA events

Has anyone run the Two Crosses 18 mile route (13 Jan) ?

I am wondering how easy it is to navigate as I guess most people will walk and unusually for me there won't be many runners to follow.
Biriani for endurance, pathia for speed.
