hi ratfink - recovered from Fairfield yet?

I won't be doing Hanging Stone Leap - if I do anything that weekend it will be either Rugby Rover or Rhayader Mountain Trail

so many good events, so little time...

I did the Tranquility Trail from the Madhyamaka Centre near Pocklington last Saturday and was amazed at the number and severity of hills that they found for us. A really enjoyable trail run with great atmosphere all round. Does anyone know whether there is a list of finishers as I would like to compare my efforts with others.

Daz - unfortunately I won't be at Rhayader this year as I have another event on. Been one of the organisers for the last couple of years, so been unable to run it on the day. But just had the routes through to look over and the 30 is good (as always) and slightly different to before, you will need to know which way up a map and compass go . Always a challenging route and the Missus is there doing the excellent food at finish. Recommended.

LDWA events are really good, you can get quite a good feed on them, if you get on the right ones

    Re: LDWA events

The LDWA events are great but remember as with fell races they are all run by volunteers, and it would be nice to see more runners offering there services as volunteers (when injured say) on some of the LDWA events, which in turn would help build an even better relationship between walkers and runners, just a thought

argg argh panic - i am now officially doing the hangingstone leap and have got a number and everything!

now it is just seeming like those longer runs (17ish) i managed to do 2/3 weeks ago are too long ago - only did 12 miles today - and the leap is TWICE that - what have i done!!???

Just chill out and have a beer mate, nothing to worry about. Start off slow, walk the uphills, stop and eat/drink at checkpoints and chat to people along the way. It will be over in no time, you'll be wondering what all the fuss was about.
