Myrtle Meander - I'll be doing it ,it's a reasonable challenge even at 5 mph!

Rumours of a route change near to the Walls of Jerico, but I haven't got a

route description Can anyone help ? It's our local event ,so local in fact that

it's a 10 min walk to the start

It's also got the best cakes of ALL events .

Unfortunatley just dropped out this week (we had entries), will now be returning from holiday that weekend. Was looking forward to it, but not to be.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

Agree with you there! Too much choice!

The second half of the route is pretty good too - especially if the snow holds out! Won't be there this year, I'm afraid.

That's a shame - it was a lot of hours I spent with you last year! And The Misses has a score to settle - doing another somewhere else?

    I'll be there hopefully.

    Re: LDWA events

Yes a pity to miss it, we were all geared up and keen. Unfortunately elderly family problems have meant no training since early December and lost all momentum etc.
Returning from 2 weeks trekking in Atlas Mountains Morroco over bank hol.........so not a bad alternative . Both in desperate need of a holiday away.

Besides, 2011 is local and Missus is designing the badge/logo for that one, on my desk as I type. See you there .

    Re: LDWA events - Tandem

Shame about the Tandem, but it was the only sensible decision, as safety cover and marshalls couldn't get to the checkpoints in time. Having recced the east route last week, my oppo gave me a guided tour of the west route on what turned out to be a glorious day of sun and snow. A steady time of 4:43. The organisers kept Goathland village hall open for hot tea, biscuits and sandwiches at the end. So, a grand day out on the Moors, followed by a steady evening on the home brew to re-hydrate.
