Nikalas, are you 'The Chinley Churner' on the 3Peaks CX Forum? Sorry if this does not solve your actual dilemma.
I found one near Dunmail last winter, if you'd entered a time warp/parallel universe during your run it might have been yours. Are there any holes in the fabric of the Universe in that neck end of the woods? As no owner details, and I'm too stupid to work it (I can nearly work a map now) I lent it to someone clever who can. Sorry that's no help is it.
The one you found hadn't been anywhere near Raise or Lower Man, at least not when switched on.
Rather annoyingly the GPS won't be lost- it'll know exactly where it is.
Sorry, must be really frustrating to lose an expensive bit of kit.
First run then beer. If no run then proceed directly to beer.

yeah a bit gutting but it was one of the most fantastic days I've had in the Lakes... yes Wheezing Donkey, I am Chinley Churner... looking forward to next years race, fingers crossed.
