Having said that, why can't the turkey be the same as a chicken?
Having said that, why can't the turkey be the same as a chicken?
Why did the turkey cross the road?
To see it's flat mate.
Can't help sharing a little anecdote from back in '87:-
I arrived in good time and having changed at Marl Pits, I jogged down into the town to where the race was going to start. There was only maybe a dozen others, jogging about to keep warm; plus a guy who must have been at least V55 with a '3 lap comb around' hairstyle that was all hanging down one side of his face, a very faded Rossendale vest, a Walsh PB Trainer on one foot and a 'Compass Rose' orienteering shoe on the other. He was bent double in a shop doorway, spewing up his r*******e.
Me, "Are you ok, mate?"
Him, "Aye, not too bad; better than I'll be in a couple of hours!"
Me, "Why? What's the craic?"
Him, "Oh, my mate came round on Christmas Eve and we went out for a quiet couple of pints. I've not been home yet.....she's going to kill me!"
Rossendale had some real 'ard men in their fell section, back then!!
I was pretty 'gutted' myself, that day. Half way up the climb, I was overtaken by Vanessa Brindle ( now Peacock) who was in a full Robertsons' Marmalade golliwog outfit, including top hat, 'afro' wig, tail-coat and full length wide stripe bell bottoms. I never saw her again until the finish.

Just finished sewing the ears on me 'n the missus' costumes. You'll have to see if you can 'spot' any Darwen Dashers there...
I should be there cant decide if im running yet are not
The race does not always go to the swift, but to the ones who keep running
Will I be allowed to do this as I will only be one day old by tommorow???
I know it's his birthday but shall we just ignore Jesus this time?
See you all there in the morning!
Well done Rossendale Harriers for putting on a fine Boxing day event again. Good atmosphere and some good costumes. That chap with the wooden girrafes neck got round sharpish considering!!
Nice to be racing again and I am looking forward to getting back up to speed so I can canter pass the odd Fell Pony
Cheers for the PJ's Swoop, they held up pretty well although I did change out of them for the cycle home!
