Martin...glad to hear you got home safely. Thats an impressive time considering the detour!

That was quite a torrid day out all told. I had a bit of 'mare navigating over the moor to check 2. Convinced myself that I had gone too far right when it was too far left! Pretty steady after that but SLOW. The days of 3 hours on that course are long gone!!
Respect to Clive, Spit, TOBW for their brave efforts on the higher summits. Not sure what Dougie had stashed under his marshal's bivi-poncho but it squeaked if you pressed it!!

I ended up a bit lost leaving the 3rd? trig point, the one after the second climb from the road, I took a path but veered off to the Left and ended up at the top of the valley, so I just headed due N and as I knew the ridges guided me back onto the track, but I reckon that cost me a few minutes.

Apart from that I think it all went OK nav wise, just a bit slow in places as I was on my own a lot and was taking it eacy on the descents as it was so slippy.

There were a few people taking photo's, be good to see a link to them if anyone knows them.

Anyway lovely atmosphere at the race, and I think we'll both be down to do the black mountains next month. good fun running outside of Snowdonia against a different crowd too, as it can get a bit familiar running week in week out in the same area.

So - it's Fancy Dress next year is it? Also what determines which way round the race goes? If it's anticlock next year I'd better do some proper recceing as I wouldn't want to end up in Merthyr Tydfil!
