    Tryfan Downhill Dash

Mike Blake, holder of the record Adam and Eve > A5 in 8 minutes, is organising a repeat of the Tryfan Downhill Dash, late in August, 2008 (Wed, Aug 27th).

It'll be a 6:30 start from the carpark, head up to the summit, then the race will begin at the Stones.

No numbers, no fee type race. Mikes organising it for his birthday.

I've got the UTMB the week after so there's no chance I'm risking injury, but really that's a convenient excuse, I'm too soft.

Sounds like a cracker that one. I may well have to book a day off work. Tryfan is my all time favourite mountain and its one steep descent

I was thinking of rigging up a couple of decent video cameras .
    Sounds like a great finish.

I reckon the top 300ft will be bedlam. I reckon you'll get 50+ people walking up the hill, but most will want to just watch. Some big drops as you get into the gully. Should be a right laugh to watch!

Where abouts would it finish. I know its the A5 but everytime I've been up and down Tryfan I've never done the same route more than once.

I think it goes down the Western Gully, then turns left and follows the 'gully' line down the side of the face, under milestone butress, its horrendously steep and slippy in the mid section too.
