This sounds a good cracker. A work colleague of mine who is pretty new to the forum is down as 'Tryfan' its his fav mountain will have to let him know. Never been up or down it myself but like the idea of these downhill dashes lets have more!! I wonder if I am off work then?

It's incredibly rough. The top 700ft or so isn't running its sliding on your arse and jumping off boulders. The top 50ft involves some down climbs which are 10ft or so high.

It's not a mass start (suicide jump) is it?

Please tell me it's some form of interval start.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

I think its a mass start, hands on adam and eve. That was how Mike broke his wrist, he knew he had to be first into the gully to stand a chance, so leaped in as the other guy climbed down steadily to get first spot.

    As said, Bedlam! :-)

If we are talking about 8 mins from top to bottom for leading kamikaze runners what's the distance from top to bottom 1.5 mile ish or more?

It's 1km. If the route I think it is, is true. If you get in the gully you could get some right photos.

First time I went down it I got a shock, thought it would be a scree run its not your racing down a scramble

I take it the leaders jump down some of the climbs to get down in that time

I think it was only 'Leader', everyone else has more sense!

Should this be otherwise known as the Lemmings Leap?

I assume this race has the unusual category '-AS'
