Cheers, ended up my football was called off tommorrow so doing the Twin Piers 10k Saturday and 4 Villages Half Sunday. I want to do at least one this year, but TBH the rain put me off tonight.

Nothing worse than hard packed trails...could have done with some rain to soften it up a bit
Don't you just hate it when you hear that big squelch followed by the cold wet feeling as you carry on your way without your fell shoe. How it came off I have no idea, the laces were as tight as they could be...and to add some input to the SEAL SKINZ thread...they are sh**e when you are up to you knee with no shoe on
Great evening out though CRR, loved every minute, infact I slowed down so I could enjoy it for longer
So glad you all enjoyed it. Its a great buzz seeing all the runners setting off in the dark, especially when its in the right direction!
My apologies to FellRunner for his 3rd palce on the results table. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll of course make sure the results are correct for a small fee!
Next Dash Race on the 1st Feb. There are some nice prizes for the overall winners at the end of the series.
Why don't you look me in the eye when when you're talking to me?
we could have set the route to miss the boggy bits but wheres the fun in that in the dark Well done to the Stig for winning
small but perfectly formed
Cheers CRR, that was fun .
Good to meet young Stanley, he should be a top signing for you.
Did we run around the reservoir or through it ?
Great race - especially the ghost marshalling halfway round - no difficulties following the route. Shame I couldn't stay afterwards for the prize giving but it's a long drive home.
But...
My *^&*$%&£ headtorch broke at the start of the first downhill
I overtook someone recklessly using the ditch at the side of the track and was full stride downhill on uneven terrain when the world suddenly went black. It's a Silva LX with a separate battery and the connection to the battery suddenly went. I eventually managed to get going again when I found that I could keep it on if if held on to the battery, but by this time half the field had overtaken me. I tried to catch back up again, then realised as I'm doing the Kinder Trial tomorrow I should just turn it into a training run
Highlight of the rest of the race was slipping in the mud (holding the battery wasn't doing much for my balance), and me lying on my back in the mud in complete darkness.
Guess I'd better get a new headtorch in the next two weeks!
Hi hi! Glad you guys had fun, you weren't 'alf muddy
