    warm welcome

    Hi all,just wanted to put a post up saying a big thank you to all the Dark Peak Runners who made me feel welcome last night on my first club run(even though i was late and had to catch up!!)I had a great evening and thoroughly enjoyed getting mucked up to my eyeballs.Im certainly looking forward to more club runs and then my first fell race.Thanks again DPR

    They were just lulling you into a false sense of security.
    Give it a week or two and then see where they take you.

    There were two new guys out on Wednesday night. I stopped to help one new guy who's shoe had totally disintegrated in the kinder river, two of us helped him tie the remains to his foot then took him and his flipper to the secret ammo box then direct accross Kinder to Fairbrook and direct to the pub with a dicey crossing of the swollen river in the bottom.
    Don't think we put him off he seemed to enjoy himself.

    I was the other new guy loxley,and i certainly enjoyed the evening,although i didnt obviously have the problems the other guy did!! is there an unusually high acidic level in the dark stuff up there?If so,i better wash my feet.
