I'm with JohnK - 104 for the price of 100 - great value, and I shall relish the extra miles towards the end :-)

good luck to those doing the 100 and the 50.

i did the 50 last year and had a great time, the whole organisation was spot on, even the lightening over the central fells in the middle of the night was a nice touch

    Lakes forecast for the weekend:

    OutlookFriday
Fine and dry and bright through the morning but becoming cloudier with rain and hill fog in the afternoon. Winds will be light at first however a strengthening southerly will set in later.

    Saturday
Sunny intervals and scattered showers these mainly in the northwest.

    Sunday
Sunny intervals and scattered showers these mainly in the west with the odd heavier one in the afternoon.

I know there's still plenty of time for forecast to change, but just so you can plan your wardrobe! So looking forward to this race that I can't help but think my weather hex will strike (OMM 08, June 09 BG in snow, end of June BG in wet crap clag and so on and so forth).

Take your sun tan lotion everybody. It looks like it'll be a sunny night on Saturday. Snorkels needed for Friday night though.

The weather forecast is changing by the day. Friday night is now looking dry; the front steaming in from the west seems to have lost some of its puff and has been delayed, according to the good ol' BBC weather. The next question is how quickly it will move out of the way on Saturday. I'll be checking the forecasts until the last minute on Fri. am.

Don`t forget to factor in the fact that the Lakes has it`s own micro climate so the chances of any forcast being accurate is pretty slim, as ever i am prepared for a damned good soaking, and not expecting the temperature to be that high overnight friday either, all in all just perfect

One of the great things about this race is that the start time of the Lakes 50 is such that if you get a move on, then you get to finish in Coniston before last orders. The same is true of the Lakes 100. Has anyone else noticed that clever aspect of the race organisation?
