Purple glow sticks leading up the steps?
You must have been halucinating, they were blue and green.....allegedly.

Was also wondering about 'knackered welsh guy', we should have got his number.
It amazing what a few cups of coke and a bit of tlc can do.

Good to meet you Hopey. T'was a tiring but rewarding weekend.

Excuse the Americanism, but I mean it when I say this event was simply awesome. It's unbelievable how it's grown in size and the level of support in only 4 years. It is truly world class now. Many thanks to Terry, Marc and all the organisers, the marshals (note one 'l', it's not a surname), medics, physios, cooks, helpers and cheerers along the way. You all made it so pleasurable and memorable I might go back on my word and return for a 4th time.

Good to meet you at Tilberthwaite, kevspider. The alleged items were alternately green and blue as I recall, but I had done 100 miles so I may have been hallucinating too.

Well done to all who got round both the 100 and 50 or just attempted it. Just got back now and thought i was fully recovered till we started unpacking!

Thanks to all the organisers and marshalls for a cracking event, absolutely brilliant. Speccies round the course were brilliant too, got a big lift in Ambleside and also at the finish, even managed to walk a mile back to the caravan site after the race..............thinking about the 100 now:w00t:

Like the write-up Nick, smell of doom in the hall nearly knocked me over! Well done again, in awe of the 100 milers.

On the subject of Walna Scar Road - are they planning to turn the Coniston range into a giant skateboard park?

Eh? Are you referring to the short section of raised 'making good'? I luxuriated and marvelled but it was too short-lived. Give it a few years and a few storms. The small particles will get washed away and it'll be back to nature - scree and loose boulders, the foot's friend.
