    I must have a mechanical problem on mine. If I come to anything greater than a 25% gradient on the 55 ring, the cranks won't go round... beats me.

    Try and get a couple of 100 mile rides in. And hill reps. I did the Etape 2 years ago off a diet of 500' hill repeats ...but I think the Fred will be harder than my Pyrenean outing. Enjoy!
