    Work interupting training

Had an injury that seemed to have subsided and was back training again, enjoying the running with a race here and there and life was good, but whats this... WORK. Overtime isn't seen as a must at our place but if you don't do it your names mud.

Just a grumble as work just seems to be replacing any chance of a run these days... anyone got any suggestions, tried early doors but just can't get going and just feel like I'm clocking up the miles and getting no benefits.

    any suggestions?

if distance is not a problem try running either there or back, alternative is cycle there run back, then visa versa
or if great distance part travel by train, bus then run rest of journey.
another alternative is ask for 30 mins extra at dinner if they require you to work over, tell them you will make it up at the end of the day.
its going to be difficult whatever you do and in particular with todays climate.
    good luck.

I would keep trying early morning runs. It's true that they do sometimes feel terrible because you are not warmed up, but i have personally really felt the benefit. It makes you feel positive for the rest of the day because you've already got some miles in, and when you can't be sure you'll get out later in the day, you've already got something done at the least.

Try a cup of tea before you go out, or put in a few strides to get you going after the first mile or so.

Just out of interest, how did you get on with work vs training?

know it might seem like stating the bleeding obvious, but as dylan says, if running to and from work every day is an option, it's a cracking way to get the miles in.
