    Peak District – Buxton Area

    Hello All.
I’m new to the forum, just finding my way around it really.
I live in Congleton (Cheshire) and am trying to meet folk who run around the peak district (in the Macc, Buxton Whaley Bridge area) .
I some time go out with the Macc Harries on a Wednesday, They do some great routes, however, can’t always make it due to work and general life.
I hoping to increase my distance and stamina over the coming year or two with a possible (we’re talking long term goal) BG one day.
I’d be up for weekend runs but can be free in the week.
Well, nice to meet you all.

    Tim

Theres also Congleton Harriers as well.

If you are going out for a longer run post on here a few days before and you may end up with company. Good luck with the BG prep

If you can get over to Hayfield on a Thursday night we (Pennine FR) meet at the Royal Pub at 7.00pm. You'd be more than welcome (don't forget a head-torch!) Went up to Kinder Low last week - it was magical.

    Hi Geoff.
I work in South Manchester, so getting over to Hayfield by 7:00pm should be easy.
If I did just turn up, who would be the best person to let know that I was tagging along? Do you run most thursday nights?

    Cheers

    Very good, Ian!

Yes, we're there every single Thursday night. I'm usually there - otherwise just speak to anyone stood around the car-park in running gear. They're a very friendly bunch, honestly! (If I'm there, they'll point you in my direction.)

Whilst the evenings are still dark there's usually some kind of a speed session organised every other week (usually requiring trail shoes), but there's still always a group heading out onto the fells. Have a look at our web-site for details - http://www.penninefellrunners.co.uk/Training.htm - this year's training calendar should be going up in the next couple of days.

Hope to see you there sometime. Oh yes, don't forget your your beer money. We always finish up in the Royal after the run.

Sounds like you're pretty sorted with Pennine - great club. It's worth mentioning Goyt Valley Striders too though, based in Whaley Bridge.

If the roads stay clear. I aim to come along this thursday.
    Hope to meet you.
    Cheers for the invite.

    Hi NME.
Any idea what the Stiders get up to in terms of weekly runs.
To be honest, I'd like to meet as many folk as possilbe and thus max my fell running options.

    Ta for the suggestions.
