I twatted it a bit last year, and it's still causing me problems now.

It's not a conventional sprainy thing, going over on one side.

There is no swelling, but it tends to hurt when I extend my foot all the way forward and down (imagine a ballet dancer) or when I bring it the front end all the way up (imagine you are stretching your calf).

When actually running, this tends to manifest itself when I stand on something lumpy with the front of my foot when going uphill, so that my heel goes down and my toes go up. It hurts like buggery for a few strides, and then wears off.

The pain is in the front of the ankle, inside the joint iyswim.

Any ideas? I went to the NHS physio, and she reckoned that a) 30 miles a week was Too Much for anyone's legs to cope with and b) my silly old fell shoes need Much More Cushioning.
