    these were my initial thoughts........BUT

the route is just sssooooooo popular with walkers/runners/bikers that the need to stop/slow down some serious erosion is in much need

the 'path' is ok at the moment, but when you see how many piles of stones have been dropped off on the route.....well it could make you cringe !!!

dont let it put you off racing on sunday though

    Re: Mickleden Straddle

This was my first fell race last year, and also a bit of a local one. Really looking forward to it.

There are loads of new big flags being laid down, but erosion is problem here, especially with mountain bikers, but it is a great stretch of bridleway in an area where there isn't that much.

    See you all there.

It won't put me off. I've pre-entered, so that means I will be running. Sounds like I'll be able to get an idea of how it will change for next year.

    Re: Mickleden Straddle

I'd be very surprised if it's full.

There's nothing on the website to say so, but might be worth a call to the organiser David Gill on 01226 240322 just to make sure. I've pre-entered just in case and to save 50p!

Hope to see you there Daz.

I planning on doing this race on the way back from a trip to the midlands.
How difficult is the navigation? Is there a map on the website or does anyone have the route already marked on a map I could borrow?
