13.8 miles and 1980 ft ascent quoted, although I make it a bit more than that.
Well I've sent off an entry (it was slightly cheaper if you entered in advance - hope mine got there on time!) so I guess I'll be doing it.
I'm going over for this one. Should be a few Pennine vests there as it's a club champs race for us.
Seem to remember there was decent food after the race last year.
Also doing this one.
went round the course yesterday (tue) with a couple of other dark peakers for a sociable run. lots of paving stones now on some of the wet bits up cut gate, but plenty of heavy ground up by Upper Hey and Wilfrey Nield.
see you all on sunday
Hard Work, Hard Training and Suffering...Race Easy
OK, anybody else up for this longish plod? It's a local race - I've run it for the past three times so I'll be along on Feb 3rd. Last year it was glorious sunshine so shorts & vets were in order.
And the nosh is always good afterwards, thanks to Denby Dale Travellers.
I'll be there, done it about 6 times now. The weathers is not always sunny but a great route whatever the conditions.
Theres loads of work ongoing to the paths in the area at the moment - both through the plantation and on cut gate - might need road shoes next year???!
and this is the reason i have decided not to do the race next year been in the area a couple of times recently, including this morning, and all i can say is that they (?) are ruining the area by putting in the paths and slab stones higher up cut gate.... a real shame. i know its all to do with access rights for ALL people..but there is a limit surely. wait until you go up there and you will see what i mean
