    BOFRA calendar 2008

Hooray! This year's BOFRA calendar has now been published at...

    http://www.bofra.co.uk/fixtures.php

For those of you not familiar with the series, it is run by a number of fell running families who organise traditional fell races at some of the local shows in the Lakes and Dales (plus one in Scotland) as well as a number of stand-alone events.

It has traditionally welcomed families and there are races for all ages at every race. The races tend to be short ones, but there are some classics in there including Coniston Gullies, the Wasdale Head Show race which races to the summit of Kirk Fell and back, and Alva Highland Games where the fell runners are welcomed as the highlight of the games.

To score points for the championship you need to register before your first race, but everyone is most welcome to attend whether competing for the championship or not. There are some great days out to be had at some of the shows. Hope to see you there.

I'm looking forward to Coniston Gullies the most. I aim to lose less than three minutes on Harry H Howgill on the descent.

    You'll love it Trundler!

Only problem is we have to run it in the day-time & light ...so you can see where you descend...

...there's a hill nearby missing its fool...

It's a classic. It'll keep you in forum tales for a while.

It's one of those races that everyone should do at least once.
