Cheers Chris. I agree with some of your reply, but I see capitalism as the root cause, rather than the rememdy. Russia is scary , but so is the planet falling to bits beneath our feet, and I don't think capitalism or control of oil will save us from that, not in the long term, in fact it is those two things, more than any other which put us in this position. It is pathetic to see the nations jockeying for position in preparation for the last battle over the last drops of oil - pathetic and scary. I agree with you - it is like the 1930's and yes I suppose that we are appeasing Russia, and I think there is every possibility of war.

I think we're still paying for the political mistakes we made decades ago. Particularly the nationalisation of British oil fields in the middle east. Now we're making the same mistakes with the Russians.

Capitalism is not responsible for the problems in the world, because nearly all countries on earth are dominated by socialism. In fact capitalism is what the world needs most desperately. Individuals need to be able to make decisions for themselves, without the interference and control of politicians and bureaucrats.

Very interesting vintage interview with Miss Rand. Mike wallace gets to the CORE. Collectivism vs individualism. Started with part 2.The beginning and end are also on You Tube:

I've enjoyed Ayn Rand's novels and appreciate the individualist aspect of her philosophy. However the egocentric selfishness is hard reconcile. It feels very much like look after number one and don't worry about what will happen to any one else.

This thread has gone way off topic..............

i do a lot of circuit / dynamics training and i think the best way to get good core strength is with one of those big exercise balls do crunches on them / pressups with your feet on them and rev situps
