Well I've just finished a 2005 Crozes Hermitage (Jaboulet) and I never drink anything at home that I haven't bought en primeur.

But what exactly is the point of this willy waving thread?
It's only a hill. You'll get over it.

No "willy waving" from me. My Chateau Tour St. Bonnet cost less than a fiver a bottle. As fell runners should we only discuss the beer we've drunk ?

Well since I've tasted Petrus 1970 I'll take your advice and stay away.

Its been a while since this thread was posted on, any recommendations for Christmas 2013 ? I usually spend a bit more than usual on Christmas wine but the "experts" get a bit carried away with their advice:

    Victoria Moore - Daily Telegraph

"reminiscent of elderflowers on a dewy morning"

"It seemed to stop a crowded room moving around me each time I have tasted it."

"smooth, with polished edges, but not a walkover"

    David Williams = The Observer

"a big bruiser of a young Cabernet"

"both have a softly leathery feel"

    Anthony Rose - The Independent

    "nuances of toastiness"

"yet remains ethereally light on its feet thanks to a purifying fresh aftertaste"

    No country for old men.
