I understand there should have been a marshal/checkpoint on top of Sail but this did not happen because of a shortage of manpower.
Bump.
Looking forward to this one - a classic by all accounts...
Very tough but a smile when its completed.
Hope the weather is kind because its treble tough in poor conditions.
I did it was a bit damp really enjoyed it apart from having to go to work straight after
Cancelled - just had this email:
We regret to inform you that due to the current Covid19 pandemic we have taken the decision to postpone the race until Saturday 24th October 2020. This decision has not been taken lightly but due to the potential for spreading this virus to family members & friends. Also, we have some members of the current support team in self isolation after returning from abroad, this situation may possibly worsen, meaning we would not have enough marshal/support. We have acted swiftly to secure a date later in the year to ensure the race takes place. We sincerely hope you can make the substituted date in October, but if not you will be entitled to a full £10 refund. We thank you for continuing to support the race & hope yo see you for a great day out later in the year. Any questions, please contact us but bear in mind we may be very busy sorting everyone out so it may take a little time.

Going downhill fast
Re-arranged for my wedding day. 12 start. 14:30 ceremony just outside Cockermouth.
Doable.
Probably not advisable.
Nic Barber. Downhill Dandy
11.00 start. No problem.
Anyone planning to be there? I should be able to get moving quite well after the long slog up Grisedale Pike, i should be able to run a fairly strong race, but from memory the descent off Barrow is rock hard underfoot and totally uncomplicated.
Luke Appleyard (Wharfedale)- quick on the dissent
The Barrow descent is technically very easy.... i love it!
