Sweet, cheers Al. I've missed out on this two years on the trot now so i'm going to have a nice easy stroll round sometime with the bine-oculars and see what the crack is. You doing Causey again?

One massive bit of advise...take the first big climb - is it Grisedale - take it steady. I already had tired legs before I started but I really suffered. Had a shocker of a race and seemed to be going backwards!

From memory I think thats right.

I remember bombing down the side of Barrow - whereas alot went over the top....going through what seems to resemble a farm (but there might not have been...I was wrecked at this point)....turn right along the road, and sprint into the caravan site and collapse.

That's about right Al, a farm it is. And be careful on the track below Causey Pike before Barrow, it's a rocky one and easy to turn an ankle or worse.
Grisedale Pike is a long hard slog but if the weather's good it's a cracking view all round.

Great route is this, tough, neverending climb up Grisedale Pike and the rest is tough as well, just out of interest has it ever been used as an English Champs race before?
