    Eyes

does anyone suffer from eye complaints caused by running? I find I suffer eye irritation from training in wind (esp cold wind), rain or snow. Also, fast descents cause my eyes to water. My eyes were streaming flying down on the Kinder Downfall descent on Sunday. One recent cold hill session gave me infections in both eyes.

Otherwise, no real problem, except through running.

    Re: Eyes

Well in the last moor crossing of the Tour of Pendle last November, running with a sub zero wind cutting me in half left to right, suffering from what I like to think was mild hypothermia and almost total loss of energy, the left side of my face froze and my vision started to go a bit funny through my left eye. Then just to add insult to injury, because that eye was watering so much, it popped my contact lens too. Needless to say I didn't stop to look for it

Since then I've added a couple of hooded tops (one waterproof and the other windproof) to my equipment rosta and I now find that I can swivel the hood to block a side on wind into my face quite easily.

Yes, my eyes water so much, usually on the downhill, that I can't see where I'm going! I find that wearing shades helps, be it sunny or not!

    My eyesight is appalling.

    I can't say I wasn't warned, though.
