Mizuno Wave Harriers are a great new shoe. Lots of grip, low mid sole and quite light. Not quite as extreme as the mudclaw but more and more people are starting to wear them now. They are worth a look at.
I totally agree with the above.

Just got some Mizuno Wave Harriers (the ones advertised in the FRA race book) and its early days but I'm impressed so far. They have a very stable, non-twistable sole thats good news for over pronators. By comparison the Swoop felt unstable, more likely to result in a twisted ankle for fiolk who need lateral stability. Good cushioning, decent grip, but not nearly as grippy as Mudclaw's. Also the Mizuno is wider than say a swoop, so fewer black toe nails for folk with wider feet.

I think the Mizuno Wave will be very good for long distance stuff and harder surfaces (e.g. 3P last year where Mudclaws were too minimal for me), and for training, while Mudclaw is a better shoe for shorter distance races and really wet and muddy stuff as I guess the fabric on Mizuno will act as a bit of a sponge.

AG imposter, Swoop used to wear Swoops but now I believe he wears Mudclaws. However he couldn't change his name because Mudclaw was already taken.
