One prediction I can make with some confidence is that most of us will be further down the results than last year. The field will be very strong at the top end because of the international element and the fact that it's a championship race.

I agree. Racing for a position is out of the window for us mortals. It's just against the clock, PB and those around you.

I was out training with the Peace brothers last night and they took a minute out of me on a 5 minute climb so I'm pretty sure - It won't be me!!!

i spotted andy p @ short pendle he had cycled there and back and won race he looked lean ,jebbys running well holmesy will be there after inlgeborough decent.reckon Billy Burns may supprise a few if hes up for it.

I'd be surprised if a newcomer won either mens or womens races - in my experience the course has caught too many people out in the past for that, usually because they fall into the trap of running too fast between PYG and RH.

Just to be different I'll predict a newcomer (to this race anyway) to win the ladies - Lizzie Hawker.
