    Salomon Raid Revo 20

Anyone used one of these packs? My Kimmlite 25l pack is getting a bit tattered and battered (partly due to my 'redesigning it'!!)and I am looking for a new lighter pack. I reckon I can get my mountain marathon gear in a 20l pack and according to the blurb the Raid only weighs 288g...versus the OMM20 at over 400g and the Inov-8 20 at 330g.

It seems to have lots of features so how is it so light and is it fairly robust? any feedback appreciated.

    Cheers

    Hi

I had one of these for the past 9 months and I use it daily from communiting to and fro work, to running over the mountains.
Personally, I think it is a fantastic pack.

    +
    Fits snuggly
    Very light
Waist belt pockets a big bonus (can fit loads of sweets in)

    -
The pocket for the H2O bladder is a velcro flap thing on the outside which sits against your back. Found this annoying at first but don't even notice it now!

    Hope this helps.

cheers terry, I don't use a bladder so if I get one it'll be even lighter!!

ps have you ever weighed it as I don't understand how its lighter than the Inov-8 20l sac which is very, very minimalist?

Not weighed it and haven't tried the Inov-8 sac, so can't compare.
I guess the only thing you can do is find a shop that has either and try them?

It's a small 20L, as said on another thread it's 17L, which I find believable.

Really like it though, light, good sized side pockets, comfy, compresses well, nice range of pockets. I ran the GL3D with it this weekend and suffered no rubbing or sore shoulders which I sometimes do with the rather less padded shoulder straps of the OMM 25L.

This is the best sac I have ever bought, very comfortable even with my platypus (if I ever find it again...) or Camelbak bladders in. I would certainly buy another when the time comes, it seems pretty strong even when fully packed.

Wifey has one, she says it's comfortable, well padded but light - superb sac.
External hydration pocket works really well too.

Anyone reading this thread may like to know I have one for sale as I have had a lot of problems with it rubbing.

Pale blue, 18 months old, under 200 miles of occasional use, no signs of wear. Tag on one of the zip pockets missing.

PM for price etc if interested.

Hey Mountainman you clearly aren't a salesman....'I have one for sale as I've had a lot of problems with it rubbing'...

No I ain't a salesman but forumites are abviously going to wonder why I want to sell it.

I think there are enough good recommendations on here to indicate it is not a general problem with this sac and another user will find it fits differently and is perfectly OK for them.

    Get yourself a bargain!!
