I chose the flattest 'phone I could find last year, it's a Motorola W220 and fits in all the key pockets in my kit. Also reasonably cheap & made of a black rubbery stuff which seems quite rugged.
Alternativey many young women here in Sheffield seem to have had a mobile phone grafted permanently to their ear and hand, which is something of a disadvantage when for instance blindly crossing the road in front of an oncoming vehicle, or serving an increasingly irate customer, however I am sure this op would be available to fellrunners on request.

Doesn't Daz put his phone in a condom to keep in dry when out running?

One of the reasons I take my phone is because it's also quite a good camera.

If you can make it to a phone box and then order a taxi to take you to a pub, then you will probably NOT make it home.
