Thread: Asics wearer seeks fell shoe

You two carry on... it's all good fun. I think us newcomer 'girlies' are a little wary of throwing ourselves in at the deepend with a hardcore fell shoe. I'm better off with something which mayn't allow me to hurtle down quite so fast in respect for my joints.... just while i'm breaking myself into the sport. Also, living in Surrey, i'll get more use out of something more versatile. I've ordered a pair of Montrail Highlander's from rockrun.com. I can do 3peaks in them
Will keep you posted 'goatie' good luck with your search

Holding back on the descents is harder on the joints than just letting gooooooooooooooo .

Can anyone tell me if there's any difference between these...

    and these...

apart from the obvious colour difference of course!!!

    errr...they're a different colour

I'm pretty sure they are just different seasons...ie same shoe but one came out before the other. If you're going to get this make (which i notice wasn't on your narrowed down list earlier ) I'd have a good search around as you'll definitely get the 'older version' cheaper than £60.

My wife, who is an infrequent offroad runner has a pair of Inov-8 290s and really likes them if thats any help.

That's cos I'm a woman and so I'm allowed to change my mind, be indecisive and fussy about colours and things!
Thanks for the info tho Bladerunner, the Montrails certainly seem to have good reviews and they're a bit prettier than Inov-8s
No really, they are reviewed as having a bit more cushioning which will be better for me doing long distance stuff...I think.

At long last I finally decided on a pair of Montrail Highlanders in a lovely baby blue colour that matches my eyes. Aaah! They won't stay that colour for long!
They arrived today, but alas, now I can but only look longingly at them. Until my foot mends I won't get to try them out. Boo hoo
