Went out to catch fresh trout yesterday, so wild brown trout and loads of fresh garden veg.
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

Boiled Egg and soldiers, couple of sticks of celery and chunk of cheddar.

Egg Custard and mug of tea.

Back out to mow some lawns now.

Spent much of an extremely wet day making jam. Six jars of blackcurrant and 12 of gooseberry. I find jam making very enjoyable although topping and tailing 6lb of gooseberries becomes quite tedious!

    BTW, they both taste great!

Good work with the jam Llani. Your previous post has given me a huge craving for an egg custard!

Jacket Potato this evening with left over bolognese on top.

Looking forward to it as I've not had a jacket spud for ages.

Anyone picked a decent lot of bilberries (whinberries or other local names) this year?
Run out of home made bilberry ice cream in freezer , several years of rubbish harvest due to too dry or too wet weather, awaiting another bumper crop to get the comb out again.
I like my bilberries - any runners bonked on the hill and been saved by picking a handfull of the fruits?

Seems to be a decent crop in Mid-Wales this year especially on the Llandinam hills, Marteg and Van Mountain. We used to/still call them Whimberries.

Have been refreshed, but not saved, by them many times but have been saved by Blackberries on both a long run and bike rides.
