Interesting. I'll have a steak then thanks.

So we need something that is tasty and somehow uses up methane...

Perhaps a system could be designed to collect the farts during the life of the insect, and use the collected emissions to cook the insect and so end up 'methane neutral'. I would imagine it's easier to do this for a maggot than for a cow, although I suppose it would have to work with multiple maggots, not one at a time, and it might mean everyone having their own maggot farm in their kitchen. And I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't some drawbacks to such a system that I haven't thought of. (I must admit, I can't claim to have fully thought this through.)

    Breakfast:
Chilly and pumpkin bread, with cream cheese and pumpkin orange jam (I made the bread and the jam, not today of course).
Greek yogurt with 2 grated apples and chia seeds.
    Fantastic as usual.

Sounds like a breakfast I would expect in prison .
Fried tomatoe (the healthy bit), rasher of bacon and 2 bantam eggs on toast, don't usually have cooked during the weekdays, not counting porridge, but it's raining!
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

There are many approaches to punishment. Greek yoghurt and chia seeds for breakfast are strange ways indeed.

I remember someone who saw me eating muesli for breakfast in a youth hostel on the morning of a fell race telling me that it was food for horses. It was only later that I thought, "Horses run fast, I want to run fast today, so it is quite right that I should be eating a horse's breakfast".

You should have them put it in a doggy bag for after the race, deserve it then and always tastes better after a good run!

Gareth Buffett, who was a GP, once told me that on the morning of a long fell race he would have a big fry-up. He would then feel dreadful for the first few miles of the race, but after that he felt great.

I did do it once actually, and recall having a reasonable race. I can't for the life of me remember which race it was though...

In fact i think it was the Buttermere Sailbeck time trial last September.
