A lovely crumble made from blackberries picked on the slopes of Wansfell, and apples from a friend of a friend's garden - yummy!

A tin of Morrisons Prunes in Juice that I found in the back of an old cupboard in the garage.

Stamped as Best Before March 2016.

They slid down lovely with some cold custard.
Visibility good except in Hill Fog

A somewhat fishy and oily dinner today. Our fishmonger gives away bones (from fish that have been filleted for other customers), and we often take a bag. We boil them up to make a really tasty, if somewhat pungent, stock, which can be used in various ways. One way is warming it up and putting chunks of vegetables in (cauliflower and carrots go well) for a few minutes, so that they are no longer raw, but not too soft.

So today's dinner was carrots and romanesco in fish stock, herrings in oatmeal, and egg fried rice (using leftover rice from Sunday's lunch with some friends). Maybe a rather odd combination, but it filled me up after today's 78-minute run over Beacon Hill, Broombriggs and Windmill Hill.

I'm still trying to educate my possible-future-daughter-in-law to ignore Best Before dates, without much success.

But only if they're at least 7 years out of date

You could try that with some of Llani's out of date prunes. That would be interesting

I've been wondering what Travs does with the hot curry powder in his work office. I'm quite worried for his colleagues.

Rocket propulsion, though I assume some FRA reg is contravened here? Just the prunes alone probably account for Llani's performance of late!
