A lovely crumble made from blackberries picked on the slopes of Wansfell, and apples from a friend of a friend's garden - yummy!

A tin of Morrisons Prunes in Juice that I found in the back of an old cupboard in the garage.

They slid down lovely with some cold custard.

A somewhat fishy and oily dinner today. Our fishmonger gives away bones (from fish that have been filleted for other customers), and we often take a bag. We boil them up to make a really tasty, if somewhat pungent, stock, which can be used in various ways. One way is warming it up and putting chunks of vegetables in (cauliflower and carrots go well) for a few minutes, so that they are no longer raw, but not too soft.
So today's dinner was carrots and romanesco in fish stock, herrings in oatmeal, and egg fried rice (using leftover rice from Sunday's lunch with some friends). Maybe a rather odd combination, but it filled me up after today's 78-minute run over Beacon Hill, Broombriggs and Windmill Hill.

I'm still using a tin of hot curry powder (best by date 2017) that i've found in the back of the kitchen cupboard when i go to the work office.
I've been wondering what Travs does with the hot curry powder in his work office. I'm quite worried for his colleagues.
