    Road bike route Peak District

Can anyone suggest a scenic route in the Hayfield or Hathersage area - say about 50 miles?

Can find loads of info for MTB routes but nothing for road bikes.

    Cheers, Ali

Don't do much road biking myself, Ali, but I bet Luv Shack knows some good routes. Failing that you could always get in touch with Nick Craig, I'm sure he'd take you out for a ride!

loads of routes from hayfield, THE MECCA OF CYCLING, just basically head from there and follow your nose. Lots of climbs though , but loads of pubs and cafes for stopping.

    Try:

Hayfield, Chinley, Rushup Edge, Castleton, Hope, Bamford, Ladybower, Snake, Glossop, Chunal, Hayfield.

    Grand day out.

Not that I'm bored... Edale instead of Castleton takes it from 35 upto 39 miles.

its easy to create your own route
but watch out for those couples park in laybys, especially ford drivers

If you want a really good organised ride around the Peak - sign up for 'Phil (Ligget) and Friends' in September, two distances 100k and 60k - It's hilly.

If you can't wait get in touch with me and I will take you on a great route - small roads.
