    Preston Harriers.

Is any one in, or does anyone know someone in Preston Harriers; preferably the fell running side of things.

The nearest running club to me is 'Preston Harriers'. I went on the website and they have there own seperate fell running section/club and they meet up on a tuesday night to go for a run. I emailed them and they said anyone is welcome and there is all wide range of ages and abilities. The only poblem is that im not a very confident person and I would feel really uncomfortable just turning up one day and saying I want to run with them.

you only live once indeed! Get down there and give it a go. All clubs love to see new faces turning up. Just turn up and say hello.

I know someone at Preston but he is a road man and doesn't 'do' fells.

Ask the person who replied to your email if he/she will be there on a Tue so you've got someone to meet up with. Makes it a lot easier - I know it helped me when I joined my local club several years ago. It is a bit daunting "just turning up" but runners are a friendly lot on the whole! Go for it!

Can vouch for Karen being a nice sort she was my geography teacher, also there is Mick Mclaughlin.

I have just recently joined a club in the last couple of weeks and I just showed up at training everyone was dead friendly it's true what they say.

Sounds like you should be in the Ponies - they're full of shy people as well
