Rob, thanks for a really great day out, apparently the sun didn't shine once all day at home, we had it good over there. I'm sure Nicky and Neil can't wait to return to the Rhinogs (not) . Smashing fun, Paul and I both loved it, especially our new descent of Rhinog Fawr "The thirty foot freefall" .
Take care and see you for another section next year.

Yes, we had that magnificent wild country at its best, and the nav more or less nailed I think. You Mid Wales guys are fast maybe need a bit more work on that Rhinog Fawr descent

Was thinking about you guys yesterday - good wild country - glad you had a good day out - that Molehill's a speedy chap isn't he!

If you're having another recce make sure you post details here and I'll see if I can come along and bring the average speed down!

OK will do. Will be January; Molehill and the Missus should be safely Down Under by then . Likely to be Migneint / Arenig / Rhobell next. Bring flippers and snorkel

... and do not attempt to swim across the duck pool (Pwll Hwyaid), just go round it.
If I can make it I will join you. Arenig Fach is another favourite of mine, wild and rough, much more so than the the bigger Arenig Fawr.

Nicky has put her photos up, a day to remember in the best and wildest of Welsh hills. Great she had the foresight to bring a camera.

C'mon yiannis where's the fun in that Is it best to go L or R or do we try both and see who's least submerged? I seem to recall using the fence to haul myself out on one occasion .

When in a hurry I used the fence but I haven't been there for a while and do not know if the fence is still...afloat. When recceing I used to do a detour on the left.

Hey Moley, does any of this help with the best route between Fwr and Fach on the race??

Probably not, as we were doing the race route 'backwards' so to speak. But we had lots and lots of fun falling over .
