I am running around Ingleton with a group of friends Friday morning and was aiming to get to Elterwater soon after 5pm and have a shower before going to the pub for a meal. Is that what you had in mind?
We need to be back at the YHA around 7.30 to 8pm for the first session. Then back to the pub I hope!

We have a full house if everyone turns up,Swoop I think you are enjoying the PUB more than the course, we do have a large bunch of girls from Leeds( I don't mean they are BIG girls ) and anybody with a faint connection to Leeds or Yorkshire is welcome, see you all on Friday night it's good full and I am sure you will enjoy it.

What a really good weekend - nobody got lost (just one or two relocations) and Swoop has worked his way to the other end of the bar. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as the instructors did, and didn't the YHA look after us well?

Glad you said the other end rather than the other side of the bar. At his age he may be too old to go over or under the bar.

Here is a simple contour map of the bar with compass directions added..

    This side:
    West _________________________ East
    The other side:

Did Swoop need to take more that two bearing to find the other end of the bar? Was he relocated a few times duing this short journey?

Even if he did manage to Navigate it solo, the instructors would have hidden the ruddy flag & clip

But given that... Fantastic course, fantastic instructors with oceans of patience, great company, beautiful scenery (including Knolls), brilliant hostel, well organised.

Thanks to everyone involved, including administrators, learnt a lot and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone, at any level, wanting to improve their navigation.

Will no longer have to use my previous navigational technique which involved sitting on a rock in tears waiting for a passing walker to tell me where I am...

I agree, a great weekend but what is a knoll?
Having done the course at Kettlewell and then done this one I suppose I'm a re-entrant.

We do not hide the ruddy controls, we place then in such a way as to test your new found navigation skills to the maximumas if we would hide controls and Swoop I think a knoll is a nasty creature that hides under a bridge, a bit like an instrutor, glad you all had a good weekend.

    You're thinking of Knoll Edmonds.
