It has seemed to take ages to get to March this year. But out in the sunshine today looking at the snow drops, crocuses (croci?) and daffodils. Writing letters to trees. Lovely.

Missed seeing you at the weekend. Hope you well.

Woken at 5:15 AM - again! - this morning, by a song thrush on steroids.
    Solitary bumblebee perusing the heathers.
First skylark of the year heard over the weekend.

All this can only mean...we're in for another Beast-from-the-East type of event on the run up to Easter!

One curlew so far. And a few lesser celandines out in the garden.

For the last few mornings a pair of Blackbirds have been gathering dry grass, moss and leaves from my garden and, annoyingly, flying across the road with it and into a neighbours hedge to build their nest.

Interestingly, Mrs Blackbird is making around 4 trips to Mr Blackbirds 1.

First daisy of the year on my lawn, and the starlings are having a whale of a time down in Lancashire

This evening, my first sighting of a Hot Air Balloon this year. A big red Virgin one over Lathkill Dale.

We had a flight in that a couple of years ago. A 60th birthday present from our daughters. Interesting to see the dales from a new perspective. The burners weren’t half hot though, burnt my bald patch.
