I will be there. Some where on Abbey Bank.
Walked over from Langset and with my Dad to here during the 50th fly over, Lancaster, Mosquito's (6) and various others, a great day out.
He's 15 years older now and wouldn't make it form Langset but intend to walk up from Foulstone over Back Tor.

We've applied for a pass but that sounds like a good plan. How long does it take to get up to Abbey Bank then?

So they are not coming to the Elan Valleys first, for test run?
Don't roll with a pig in poo. You get covered in poo and the pig likes it.

I went to school in Hope and dozens of us bunked off school to see the 50th anniversary flypast. Sat on top of Win Hill and watched the Lancasters fly below us.

Brilliant day and well worth seeing.

Well, the kids are in school in the day so the adults want to go along and take a look. I'm trying to convince the in-laws that an early start and walk up onto the moors overlooking would be best, but they're not keen....

Perhaps I'll try and get up there on my own, can get onto Margery Hill or Howden Edge. Will see.

Park at Foulstone Delph below the Strines and its a 3 mile walk there and 3 mile back. My dad, being 82, will take a good hour to walk that so we are parking up at 08:30 (ish).

Ian DP - Will be going to Fort Bill Friday pm, still need to tie up with Ian C and Nick Whittingham as to exact time but would guess at around 14:00 hrs.

Thanks for the info I didn't know this was happening, but would like to see it.
I might run over from Langsett as I suppose parking's going to be at a premium on the Strines road,
