Had two ducks outside my front door this morning. I assume a male and a female (one was brown, the other green/white/brown.

A few wildlife highlights to report:
Pied flycatcher in the garden over the last few days. The male looks particularly splendid. I announced "piecatcher" at one point to Mrs Noel - followed by a short conversation about what that would look like.
We were on holiday in Greece over easter and saw a few tortoises - all alive, crossing the road. Both Hermann's and marginated (I think).

A billy no mates swallow. I'm sure another will arrive eventually, there's a few about here when the sun is shining.

We encountered a piecatcher on a holiday in Devon. It's a variety of seagull that swoops down and grabs your pie before you have had a chance to eat it. [Actually it wasn't a pie, it was my wife's Cornish pasty. I suppose you shouldn't be eating Cornish pasties in Devon.]
