No, he's just leaving it to grow so that he can have even more wildlife encounters. https://plantlife.love-wildflowers.o...arden/mynomow/
In his lifetime he suffered from unreality, as do so many Englishmen.

I should have expected some cheeky guy to come up with a remark like this.
    Lawnmower in good working order.
Just after years of experimenting with lawn, I reach the conclusion that I much prefer some more natural, so as nature intended, rather than more artificial. Better for the environment, and for humans too therefore.

Just spotted a Southern Hawker dragonfly at my mum's, and on this occasion it settled on a sage leaf and I managed to get a half decent photo on my phone

Saw a kestrel, below, whilst out walking in East Staffordshire earlier

Couldn't get within 150 metres of it, but fortunately had my camera rather than my phone

Also saw, and managed to photograph, a Brown Hawker dragonfly on the wing eating flies

A male Migrant Hawker dragonfly skimming over the Coventry Canal at Huddlesford. And I didn't have my camera

I don't know how many times I've crossed the canal here, but it's been several times a week for the last 40 years, and I've never seen one, (to identify), before.

Wonderful. I can't wait for tomorrow morning!
On this mornings dog walk there was a large number of swallows, I counted up to 40 before they all flew off, on the same telegraph wire that I saw my single friend on in March.

They are obviously getting ready for their long flight to the sun and from the numbers in this neck of the woods they seem to have had a good year.
