they are every where I get tired of either standing on them or jumping a mile as they shoot out of the heather a foot in front of you.
Kinder, Bleaklow, Howden/Derwent edge, also on Blackhill and Chew I suspect. If you get off the beaten track or are early on a morning before the ramblers are out you should see loads.
Best head count for me was 20+ in one view in spring at about 6.30 am near High Stones.
A flock upwards of 200 Curlews at Marton near Barnoldswick this mornin'. Very unusual to see so many inland; must be on spring migration from the coast. Hope it bodes well for a good spring.
