I know its an obvious one but invest in a very good pair of anti-blister running socks is a start. A Sports podiatrist friend of mine who runs swears by using something fleecy web or moleskin ? Its like a plaster but the outside surface is made from anti-friction material. He says the best place to get it from is www.canonbury.com as you can buy it in meter squares for a very reasonable price.

Bodyglide is the best I've found.

Got some bodyglide in a goody bag a few months back but never even looked at it yet, is it any good??

My feet suffer on the longer races and have been thinking about taping them for the Saunders this year

    Re: Vaseline, Talc or Tape

I usually suffer badly from blisters on long races such as PPP.

So for last summer's BG I smothered my feet in vaseline before the start and at each road crossing (actually my support team did that for me, which was probably beyond the call of duty).

It felt a bit funny at first, but even though I was wearing a pair of shoes I'd only worn twice before I had not a hint of a blister.

Sounds like you had really comfy shoes! What did you wear? Walshes?

Oh I assumed this was a nipple question, don't really get bad blisters except sometimes on tips of toes on long road runs, but never on fells yet. Nips on the other hand are another matter and seem to bleed on anything over an hour, so I am a plasters man.

I've gone mad and bought some of that Lanacane anti rub stuff , it's expensive though £5.99 for a small tube. Maybe a one off as it had better be bloody good to justify the difference in price to Vaseline. Anways , see what happens after a good 35 miler.
