    Salomon shoes

I am thinking about trying the Salomon xt shoe.
I have never tried Salomon before anyone have any ideas on the fit,or has anyone tried the xt wings shoe?
I have a fairly wide foot ,so slimfitting shoes are not good for me.
thanks in anticipation of your replies

Not worn that style, but worn the standard salomon trail shoe and the speedcross shoe before and always fitted well, and I have wide feet. e.g. I need to use the wide walsh ultra's and innov8 mudslw/rocs don't fit.

    cheers

    Re: Salomon shoes

I got a pair of XA Pro 3D's earlier in the year and ran a 40 miler straight out of the box with no problems whatsoever other than having to wring out the footbed a few times as it seemed to retain water and was a bit squelchy. I normally blister just looking at my Walshes/Inov8s, but have none wearing these.

    Re: Salomon shoes

fit is good and ride is good but shoe quality is rubbish. The grip on the 3d pro lasts about 2 minutes. xa pro better grip but uppers are rubbish on both shoes. Spoke to a Salomon designer once and all they were interested in was what the shoe looked like and having had some this is where they have spent the money - not on quality. Buy a less pretty shoe like montrail and vasque and they will last and perform much better.

I have absolutely loved my Salomons for trail stuff. They are very comfortable, hardwearing and look great. I agree though, they're no good on steep wet slopes and mud. I've just ordered a pair of Montrail Highlanders as they seem to have great reviews. Won't be out in them for a while now though!

See my post #15 on the thread "First run in Speedcross2" for (good) thoughts on the Speedcross 2.
