Generally going nowhere fast.
New winner of the Yomp yesterday AD Birtles in 3 hrs 20 min with S Moffat just one minute behind.
The weather was particularly bad on Swarth Fell and the Riggs, windy with constant low cloud , very cold! One of the coldest years and i've done 12 now.
The weather forecast from Metcheck was warm and sunny with winds 1-3 mph . just shows you. Loads of great support by the organisers and local Mountain Rescue. Well Done to all of them for walking the course in what was a tough day!

Hi Alf
I did this yesterday and it did get cold. did the full yomp in 4:29 so big improvement on previous year when i did it in 5:57.
course well marked and excellent organisation
Well done Man from Del Monte, i ran/walked around with my brother . 5:57 for us , wish i'd not economised on kit and took a waterproof and gloves , as we were moving fairly slowly it was cold. 4:29 is a good time, i hope to get a new pb next year , my pb is 4:49 so i'll be chasing yours!
The showers are very welcome and those glorious , never ending mugs of tea!
I'll always do this race, such a good atmosphere and well organised.
