Ah, so you'll be doing the Eustace Thomas Round then..? What a great idea, it must be so much easier

Might be a more sensible idea than following George Brass & Paul Murray

There's a good incentive to keep up a good pace then, or the Goyt Valley crew will be trampled under the feet of the pack of Dark Peakers starting 15 minutes later! Eeeeek

Good luck to all. Looks like a pretty good forecast.

Agreed - with 5 hours to go, where would you rather be?
On Gable with a gentle trundle down to Honister and an easy last section or at Threlkeld in the dark with those 3 bloody big climbs!

    See you at Wasdale Rob.

No question. Doing the hard parts first has to be the best option. From his chosen start point, Bob Graham was right.

The last 5 miles, from the top of Skiddaw to Keswick, are all downhill on an AC round though!

Does anybody ever start/finish anywhere other than Keswick?

starting from somewhere else gives you an extra degree of freedom in terms of what bits you do first/what time to start/what bits you do in the dark.

    Hi everyone

We are kicking off at 1am on Sunday morning, on a 23hr CW round. Weather forecast seems to be getting a bit worse but nevermind.

    Anyone else starting then ?

I'm sure I've read somewhere that some rounds used to go from Great Langdale but I might be imagining it!
