    Re: Tal Y Fan - Sat.12th July

Hard race. Didn't have a good one really, found it hard to get going after over a week at sea, then got lost coming off Tal Y Fan, went too far right into the bogs, then had gut issues so had to do a Paula, but ended up winning as the leading pair (Rob Samuel and Stan Charles) got lost, but they were way ahead of me before then.

Quite a circuituous route and one that would benefit from a recce before hand. Nice atmosphere at the race, 56 ran. Andrea Roberts had a good run and broke the womens record.

It's handy you were right in the bogs then innit?

Thought you must have been away. Catch up (not literally, obviously) at Snowdon.

Any runs a good run if you win?

Yeah all sorted now for Snowdon, meant to be a good night out afterwards in the Vic and Llanberis. This last time at sea was meant to take me away for either/maybe both of the Snowdon and Borrowdale weekends, so thankfully got it in early.

Being off route was pretty handy, that won't be an option on the Llanberis path, so need to sort it out for Snowdon!

    What a FANTASTIC race!

Lovely route (as harrymoon said "stupidly steep" hill to start, and whole thing would benefit from a recce)
Amazing views, friendly village carnival, good weather, excellent marshalling (Many Thanks to Team Dolly!)

pretty sure I lived up to my own billing and finished last, due in part to an unscheduled meander off-course (lost me about 10-12mins I reckon), but at least I didn't DNF!

great to see harrymoon again at start/finish - how many races does that man get through!!
